The Show R&B Superstars – Motion Graphic Animations
RoomCR6 were commissioned to create a promotional motion graphic animation for ‘The R & B Superstars” show, held at the Wembley arena. The first motion graphic piece was produced back in September 2013 and was created to promote the upcoming show in November 2013. We were then commissioned to do another piece to help promote the following show which took place in February 2014. Not only was the second motion graphic piece shown on the big screens on either side of the stage at the Wembley arena during the live show in November in front of a crowd of over 11,000, but it was also used as an online promotion piece. This was an amazing opportunity for us to see our work on such a grand stage.
First Motion Graphics Piece
We used two separate approaches for the animations with the first animation, a 3D based motion graphics piece, had the logo of The Show fractured in 3D and within a room environment. We then projected the artists on various pieces of shards, then finally in all the pieces and shards forming together to fully form the final logo. The logo was first created in Cinema4D and then fractured to into the separate pieces and shards, and then finally the 3D elements were transferred into After Effects to composite, colour grade and animate the final piece.
Second Motion Graphics Piece
The second animation we produced a more particle based look. The logo and names of the artists were all made up of particles using Trapcode particular. This gave us a more dynamic look and feel, as we were able to project the artists photos onto their corresponding titles.
Overall the project was a success and to top it all off, we were invited to the final show and had been given backstage and front pit access to take some photos of the event for future promotional use.
